Ah this proposal is so off the planet absurd. It’s romantic in the biggest sense, and it’s also ludicrous. These boys love each other, of course, but have just reclaimed that, and have already given each other every reason to know that love isn’t easy. That love doesn’t solve everything. That it’s not a guarantee.
And then you throw in show choirs and Dalton and bright suits and all their friends and a complicated Beatles song that seems simple. And fucking rose petals. Huge and absurd.
And yet Kurt, here, and Blaine elsewhere, bring it all together. Because this is not an absurd young man; it’s a thoughtful, wary, one. It’s someone making a decision and taking in a moment because it means forever. It’s someone who is very aware that the man who makes him feel safe and loved, the man who brings all the spectacle and romance and joy, is also the one who hurt him most and could again. It’s someone who has his eyes wide open and is still about to say yes.
